So, you created aprofile (uploaded your best head shot), invited associates, contacts and customers to join your networkand even linked it to your website and blog. You’re done, right? WRONG. Run Campaigns Using The Question and Answer Feature on LinkedIn and Twitter.
This featurepermits users to ask and answer questions with their network. Asking a question at least once amonth keeps your brand active and visible. It fosters an interactive community that keeps your contacts coming back to participate. Frequently answering questions establishes and maintains your credibility as an expert. This tool is also a valuable way to connect with a potential networking partner who shares a mutual interest or happen upon a joint venture opportunity. Not to mention it is free,targeted marketing research.
Use Status Updates Daily.
Available on most sites, status updates give you the opportunity toannounce your current activity which let’s your audience know about how you spend your day.Occasionally, you can also let them know about great stuff going on in your businesses (read: specialoffers or promotions) allowing your contacts or tap into the knowledge network you are a part of for areference or referral. This update is then broadcasted enabling you to continually craft your brandmessage, share your personality and keep top-of-mind. For example, I used my current status toadvertise I was looking for a new assistant to help me manage my growing business. Not only did Ifind an assistant, I found three new leads who wanted to know what I was doing to keep my businessso successful during these challenging economic times.
Participate Actively
Conversation is a Two-Way Street.
Activity keeps your name in front of contacts. Respond the way you want your contacts to respond to you. If an important contact issearching for a qualified bookkeeper and yours is excellent, pass along a referral. As mentionedabove, periodically answer questions for which you have knowledge. Seek and providerecommendations regularly. And, don’t forget to join relevant groups. Doing so quickly and easilymultiplies your network.
Post Events on Facebook That You Are Participating In and Hosting.
This is a great way toinform the masses and gain more participation as key word searchers happen upon you. It’s also aninvaluable way to boost your credibility as a subject matter expert to those visiting your profile and toshare valuable information with your peers.
Use your Blog and Post 2-3 Times a Week.
Keeping it fresh and informative will keep them comingback for more. Also, post on other people's blogs including a link back to your own. This not onlyhelps you to build traffic for your blog, but when you are submitting articles and expert content, itlends credibility by demonstrating priceless knowledge.Don’t let your social media efforts stop you short. Remember to take time each day to utilize consistentbuzz building efforts with your social media network. Doing so will multiply your results and guarantee agreater level of success!
