Give one dose of sulfuric ether in sugar water every half an houruntil relieved. Also use for toothache andheadache but be careful to keep it away from theflame of your lamp because this mixture isflammable.Canker Sores: alum, borax, and loafsugar pulverized into powered and taken orally.Dyphtheria: brimstone kills this and other fungus. Other gargle with wine stirred with a finger not aspoon, if the throat is too sore to swallow this gargle then blow it into the throat with a quill or inhalethe fumes over a shovel of live coals.Dysentery and diarrhea:

Injections of mutton broth, a severe case is cured by injecting broth made from the head of asheep;
o
 
1 tsp. pulverized charcoal in milks three times a day;
o
 
Raw beef cut thin and laid on the bowels;
o
 
Flour mixed with cold water to drink;
o
 
A cloth soaked in vinegar and spread with mustard and laid on the pit of the stomach to stopvomiting;
o
 
Brandy mixed with camphor;
o
 
1 ½ oz. prepared chalk, ½ oz. prepared Arabic gum, oil of cinnamon, mix together with 1 oz.white sugar, mix all with a pint of cold water and serve in a wine glass, smaller dose to childrendepending on age and size;

Sulfur can also be used for dysentery when bloody stools are present;
o
 
Anodyne Injections;
o
 
A pill of opium inserted in the anus;
o
 
40 drops of laudanum can be used in a syringe, this can be increased to 4 times the amount untilwell.Fever: Wine whey made with sweet milk and wine, boiled when it curdles it can be used to reducefevers in patients. Bathe the patient's limbs in vinegar and water.Headaches: Strong hop tea to cure headaches.Indigestion: go to an Eastern Druggists, get Sea Island Sand stir it with molasses or syrup, and takeafter each meal.Lungs (cold in the lungs): slices of pork fat basted onto a cloth to cover the chest and throat. Dustpepper on the pork, keep it on for two or three days. Fat bacon can be used also.Overdose of Camphine: mix egg white in a glass of wine. (Camphinewas the trade name of a purifiedspirit of turpentine formerly used for lamps, generally prepared by distilling turpentine with quicklime).Piles: a drachm (

) of powdered sugar, lead, lard, and sweet oil, apply externally three times a day. Orfor bleeding piles inject alum and ice water.Poisoning: can be cured by drinking Epsom salts because it carries the poison away. Other: sweet oiltaken internally can cure humans and animals of poison including snakebite. Sweet oil also curesspider and insect bites, poison ivy, bloat in cattle.Rheumatism:

1 tsp. saltpeter dissolved in 1 quart brandy take a wine glass full three times a day;
o
 
½-pint gin with teaspoon of saltpeter take 3 times a day. Also drink old cider freely;
o
 
Glass of wine with brown sugar, beaten egg, and turpentine.Sprain: rub with kerosene oil.Stomach: for violent stomach distress 3 or 4 drops of spirits of turpentine and castor oil, also can beused to break fits.Worms: a Dr. Babcock pink pill steeped in a ½ pint, give a tablespoon once every half hour, then at
