ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Clinton H. Whitehurst, Jr.Richard L. Clarke
Dr. Clarke is an associate professor of logistics and transportation management in theCollege of Business and Behavioral Science at Clemson University, Clemson, South Caro-lina. Prior to joining the Clemson faculty, he served as an assistant professor of logisticsmanagement at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio. He served 21 yearsin the Air Force as a transportation officer. He earned his doctorate in operations manage-ment/logistics at the University of Texas in Austin and has published over 25 articles inrefereed journals. His current research interests include transportation policy, supply chainmanagement and the measurement of efficiency.Clint Whitehurst holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Virginia and did postdoctoral work in defense studies at Edinburgh University (Scotland). He is the author of five books and 140 published articles, reports, monographs, and research papers, the greatmajority in the area of Transportation & Logistics and Defense Studies. At present he is an Adjunct Scholar of the American Enterprise Institute, Washington, D.C. and a Senior Fellowof the Strom Thurmond Institute of Government and Public Affairs at Clemson University.
