Me and my fiance have two dogs. One is a 3 year old male pit bull purebred, brindle. The other isa 3 year old famale pit bull/boxer mix, brown and black. The male might be humanely put down due to attacking a horse on Saturday. We love him todeath but can't take any chances. The female will hopefully be with us forever!

you really shouldn't put a dog down because his instinctual nature kicked in. Pitbulls should notbe left or any dogs for that matter to roam freely and get into trouble. I don't even believe thatyou would consider putting your dog down because he was left unattended and decided to getdown with a horse.... Please keep your dog alive and attended to at all times. He is not a baddog. He does not need to be put down because of the owner neglecting to keep a watch on him.

Please don't put your dog down just because you weren't supervising it well enough! I don't meanfor that to sound like a personal attack - it's not intended as one. Pit bulls require more work andvigilance than a lot of other breeds. Some people on this forum have to crate and rotate theirdogs because they would fight if left together unsupervised. As a pit bull owner, you will have to deal with issues that other breed owners don't - like BSL,prejudice, and the possibility of your dog becoming dog aggressive as it matures. It's all part of owning this "breed" that has captured our hearts. Please reconsider having your dog put down.Welcome to the forum - you will learn A LOT here!

i don't want to put him down! It's just the fact that he went thru a barn window and attacked thehorse. I wasn't there due to having to take care of my grandma. We just can't trust him. He's alsosnapped at a 8 month old little boy! I love this dog but i can't take the risk of him biting someone!

I know this is old but wanted to clear the facts. The lady that was kicked was not the owner and had no business having the horse out in the first place. She took the horse up to the window where the dog was, tourmenting him (dog). "This is yet another telling example of how irresponsible so-called "responsible" pit bull owners truly are." You better know the facts before posting crap!!!
