It mayalso mean the physical components of a computer system, in the form of computer hardware.Hardware historically meant the metal parts and fittings that were used to make wooden productsstronger, more functional, longer lasting and easier to fabricate or assemble. In modern usage itincludes equipment such as keys, locks, hinges, latches, corners, handles, wire, chains, plumbingsupplies, tools, utensils, cutlery and machine parts, especially when they are made of metal. Inthe United States, this type of hardware has been traditionally sold in hardware stores, a termalso used to a lesser extent in the UK.In a more colloquial sense, hardware can refer to major items of military equipment, suchas tanks, aircraft or ships.

2.0The Latest Open Source Operating System (OS)
2.1Meaning of open source OS
Open source is a programming philosophy whereby all aspects of a program are open for review. The term usually refers to the source code of the program, but can also refer to filescreated by the program, which would be readable in other applications. Many Linux distributionscontain exclusively open source software. The opposite of open source software is proprietarysoftware, whereby the source code is available only to the developer of the software and to thosewho successfully hack it.Another advantage of paid, proprietary software is the support contract that usuallyaccompanies it. Those who purchase Microsoft Windows, for instance, are provided with freeinstallation help by telephone, and can purchase additional support contracts. Linux, on the other hand, is usually downloaded free of charge, and those who provide the download are under noobligation to provide installation support for it. Open source software is software that is free touse without the restrictive licensing of many types of commercial software.
2.2Example of open source
The example of an Operating System, one is Mac Os. It was the first commerciallysuccessful graphical user interface released in 1984. It is closed source software and is targetedfor use with home desktops and workstation. Moreover Mac OS is operating system used onApple Platform.Another operating system is UNIX; it is use in Cross-Platform. It is a multitaskingoperating system developed in early 1970’s by scientist at the Bell Laboratories. Some versionsof UNIX have a command line interface but most versions UNIX offer a graphical user interface.3
