An Amana brand, patented stainless-steel, tubular heat exchanger – the heart of its gas-fired furnaces – will soon cycle on-and-off for the two-millionth time, heating up to raging 1,100 degrees Fahrenheit and cooling down dramatically by 900 degrees, just as it’s done every day since 1995. That amazing achievement is quite possibly the equivalent of 500 years of residential use in Southern California.
