INDEXING
Indexing is an alphabetical list of names, subjects, etc at the back of a book, withthe numbers of the pages where they can be found. It also can be define as a set of cardsor a database containing information, usually arranged in a library. Almost all librarysystem provide access to basic index type especially browse and keyword indexes. Agood library system allows staff and users to perform multiple searches or Booleansearching in OPAC (Online Publication Access Catalog). The library can also give chanceto users for many choices to search for the information. For example, the users can usekeyword, title, subject, any, left string, Boolean, Pattern, “And”, “Or”, “Not”, etc. These basic indexes can help the users to search the materials in the library become more fast.
ACCESS AND SECURITY
Access can be defined to find information, especially on a computer. Meanwhile,security is to make something safe from being attacked, harmed or lost. A good system provides access and security not only to the system but also protected the data. For example, in library the staffs can use the username and password for using specificsystem in library. In Tun Dr Ismail library known as PTDI, in OPAC there have 15modules in the system but there have only several modules that can be use for the staffsand the users only. The purpose for this reason is for access and security. It is becausethere will anybody misused of the other modules for themselves. The other modules canuse by the right authority of using it like librarian, vice chancellor of librarian, etc.
