Civil unrest reported in Medina. Unconfirmed reports of a demonstration regarding comments made by the localISF commander. Reports of warning shots fired to disperse demonstrators. Apparently an IA General (fromTikrit), who is in charge of the units in the area, insulted Imam Ali and Imam Hussain (two of the most sacred men
in the Shi’a religion). As a result, an angry crowd
congregated at the IA camp under the south end of the Medinabridge, and shots were fired by IA to disperse the crowd. Indications are that the crowd has dispersed for now,but this will be an area and an issue to keep an eye on.
Qais al-Khazali, leader of Shia militia Asaib al-Haq (AAH) has announced that the recent film that has triggeredprotests in Libya, Egypt and Yemen, will put all US interests in Iraq in danger. Today, supporters of Muqtada al-Sadr protested in Sadr City (Baghdad), Najaf and Basra City. So far there hasn't been a serious incidentreported, however this threat should be taken seriously. Although the report specifically mentions 'US interests', itshould be considered that this threat extends to all foreign interests - at least for the time being. AAH andMoqtada al-Sadr still maintain influence in Basra, which if required, could be used to target foreign interests.Official sources have not reported any specific threat in Basra, however, if an incident does occur, it is likely to beopportunistic in nature.

As part of your first parade and last parades you are to ensure that all the IVMS systems fitted have a SIM card inthem. You are
to do this check yourselves and not rely on the LN’s.
I want a full 100% check of all the vehicles and to be informed of those that have IVMS fitted straight after thismeeting.
Vehicle Servicing:- Ensure that you get the vehicles that belong to your team and that need servicing done thismonth.
