SOCIAL SIN One example of social sin is WATER POLLUTION.

This is the result of a sin of not only one but a number of people are liable for its cause. The long term dreadful habits of man led to the gradual destruction of these bodies of water which then provide us the necessary things that we need in order to survive. It is one of our source of livelihood like fishing, it gives us food, irrigate our farmlands in order for it to be productive and so on. These bodies of water give us lots of benefits yet in return we are the main cause of its damages. We sometimes lack discipline and we tend to become selfish, we throw piles of garbage anywhere; we use chemicals that poison the diverse flora and fauna of these waters. We are the cause of this phenomenon and we are also the ones affected by the consequences brought about by our own actions. Various diseases are acquired when we come in contact with contaminated water, poisoning that can even lead to death may happen, and at times of floods we are savaged by filthy water. All of these boil down to social injustice, in a sense that our wrongdoings are affecting other innocent people. The result of our actions is not for the common good since the negative effects outweigh the good outcomes. Our daily practice of throwing garbage to rivers and depositing toxic chemicals to these bodies of waters can lead to devastating events that could definitely harm not only us but a great number of people. Therefore, we can conclude that my mistake, your mistake and everybody elses mistake can sum up to a problem, a social sin.
