1.Introduction
This document contains all reports, figures and statistics produced by Match! for the FIFA World Cup 2006 (WC), both for the soccer-competition as the betting-competition(‘toto’).See [Match! user manual, on website] for an explanation of all the figures in this doc.In Match, the matches of round 1 (group-round) have ID’s 1-48. In the next (final-)rounds, the match-ID’s are 10.001-10.016.Paragraphs 12-20, so the output marked with ‘NL’, relate to statistics of the Dutch team. The performances (marks, ‘rapport-cijfers’) are from soccer-experts (Telegraaf).We registered almost all match-details (e.g. who made a goal and when), except: yellow/red-cards and lineups, this is only done for the Dutch-team.When a match in a final-round is equal at the end of the extra time (so a ‘draw’ after 120 min.), the result of the penalty-shoot-out is considered by Match as 1 goal for thewinning team, and the result is a victory, not a draw. In Match this goal is registered as: sub-player: ‘NN’, time: 121 (min.).Own goals are in Match not assigned to a sub-player, but to ‘NN’ (anonymus).References to literature are noted as [Li].On our website, you can find Match! (demo-version), with all data as you can see in this report. Because the WC is now over, the last round (round 5) is the actual round, andthe matches you see will be filtered on this round.
