Mark Emmanuel BayaoaBook review Chapter 1: Ethical TheoriesJames Rachels: Egoisim and Moral SkepticismLibrary Reference : N/A Amazon:Quote: “Our ordinary thinking about morality is full of assumptions that we almostnever question. We assume, for example that we have an obligation to consider thewelfare of other people when we decide what actions to perform or rules to obey”.For me, Morality means safeguarding the fact and performing meritorious deeds. Allpeople have morality in life. They know what is right and what is wrong. I think thatmorality is like rights. People are fighting for their own rights. For example, thecomments of the people in our government, they know what is right and what is wrongin our government. I got this quote in this book. People know what’s best from themespecially the things that they will receive benefits. They know what’s right and what iswrong. But people have different way of thinking. Others know they are best from thembut others think that they are wrong.Learning expectation:I expect to learn in this book is all the things that are discuss by the author. Actually, Idon’t have any idea in this chapter. I can’t understand what the book wants to tell tome. I think that there are connected to each chapter.Review:This chapter talks about the egoism of the people. As is search the net I found out thategoism It has something to do with yourself, and that you like yourself more, orconsider yourself to be more important than others. In this chapter talks about theimportance of themselves than others, just like self interest you have to do your best toyourself. If I will ask you if you can do it to your friend what you are doing to yourself maybe you will have to think twice. For me, it is the nature of all people in this world. Many people are like this, they think about to their self.
