 Rising and Falling
A Poetry Compliation By Sarah-Rheanne

The Mirror
L
ook in the mirror.Society describes me.Non-descript hair, plain face.Glasses and acne
add to my list of aws.
Look at me!So unlike her — that other girl, the one society constantly compares me to.
Flawless, sexy,
picture in a magazine — so unlike her.
I can’t help but turn away. Can’t bare to look at what is deemed
“imperfect” by this monster called
Society, along with Popularity.
I can see you beyand the tears.
 You brush them away.
You, the image of true perfectionand beauty, offer me your protection.I can see in your eyes
my true reection.
A smiling face,a child of God. You hold me closeand tell me I am safe.
I whisper “I love you.”Over and over. “I love you.”
Behind me the mirror shatters.
 All This For You
 A broken heart; A hidden mind;Lost emotions,
That I can’t nd.
Soaked in pain;
I have one fear.
You’re Lost too me,I need you here.Silence screaming,Darkness falls.Bleeding stopped, After all.Hope is gone,Trust is too,Thoughts unclear. All this for you.

Rain Song
Steady beating drops
Tapping at the window
Falling into rhythmFalling into songSteady beating drops
Pouring in the gray Painting scenes and picturesPainting in the sky
Steady beating drops
Falling down on mePainting me a picture
Singing me a songSteady beating dropsCrystals in the nightCalming, soothing, leading
Fading with the light.
Untouched
 A shimmering sea
Of white and blueGlistens in the winter sunWind swept dunesof untouched snow

Memories
Pictures, places, words and faces
Bring me back to a moment.
You were you and I was me.But we are different people now. There were stories, jokes and laughter,There were tears and fears and sadness. We have different lives now.The world spins us around,
It’s hard enough standing on the ground.Life sends us sailing through the air;
We have to choose how we land.
Some land on their feet,Some aren’t so lucky.
Every time I think of youI nd myself free falling Wondering how I’ll land.
Memories take me back
To who were once were.
All I can do is sigh and smile,
Except the good times,
As I dust myself off  And get up from my unfortunate landing.
Hidden
The days go by, I act like nothing’s wrongOnly you knew my feelings all along. You’re the one who saw the hurt I feel inside.
There’s no other place safe for me to hide.
Everyday I miss you more
I need you more than I did before.
You still can’t my love for youOnly you can make the pain go away.
