If you live with a person who snores as 2 out of 3 partnered adultsdo then you know how disruptive it can be. When the passage of air through the back of the nose and mouth is disrupted, snoringoccurs: this disturbance of the airflow that results to snoring takes place at the place where the tongue and upper throat meet called theuvula. The uvula is the soft tissue that hangs from the palate. One possible cause of snoring is weakness of the upper throatmuscles. When these muscles are weak, the soft palate, tongue, anduvula droop and disrupt the passage of air. Then as air is pressedthrough them, they create vibrating motions which produce the bedroom noise we know as snore.
