“BRIEF”
Sorry for the delay, but FINALLY I have assembled a bit of an update for you to, hopefully, enjoy and catch up withwhat I have been involved in over the past several months.
Happy New Year! And for thatmatter, Happy Election Day,Thanksgiving, Christmas, and St.Valentine's Day too! Uh...it's been awhile since my last update andplenty has happened since my lastupdate (I think it was in May.) Imoved in with two of my closestfriends in Chile, visited the UnitedStates, attended a conference formissionaries in Brazil, received twoclose friends for a weeklong visit,started a weekly study with one ofthe members of the church,continued my involvement in mysmall group, and much more. AgainI apologize for my dilatoriness but Ihope this “brief,” as I call, it fillsyou in on what’s been happeningin my life and gives you a glimpseof what I’m going to be doingover the next eight months.Hopefully I can keep it togetherand continue updating youthroughout the coming months.

“Garrett, tomorrow you’re coming to live with us. Don’t ask why.”
So I live with my closest friends in Chile. Christian and Dianatold me several months ago that I was going to move in with themprior to their wedding as to set an example for friends andfamily. It has been quite an experience living with ayoung, newlywed couple. Christian has become moreand more of someone beyond a friend for me. He hashelped me with some struggles and kept meaccountable in those battles. Diana is full of energyand likes to throw herself in to several things. We’re thecooks of the house.Well the congregation has moved in to a new stage of its life;like a child, it's growing up and the parents are preparing it for thefuture. The missionaries have set departure years and willeventually be completely out of the mission in sevenyears. There was arecent call to discipleship and Christian and Diana were a couple that was calledand they happily accepted it. They are strong leadersin the youth and beyond in the church body. I enjoyevery moment I pass alongside them growing togetherin our faith and friendship.

With the recent absence of one of our stronger leaders, it was difficult to see where the youth group was going but God has moved several individuals to take the lead and run with new ideas and engaging their peers.
Saturday activities

Nursing home visits

s youngestbrother, Byron, got ourgroup hooked up with anursing home acrosstown. The youthorganized a church-wide adult diapers andmilk drive. The churchwas very supportive andbrought in dozens ofpackages of both items.Since our initial contact,we

Katy (pronounced “Ka-tee”) Moore is the sisterof Christian, myhousemate. She wasscared off a year agoafter hearing a sermonon the cost of followingChrist but she could notstay away. Watching herbrother transform aftermeeting Christ, studyingwith him and her sister-in-law, and a meaningfulconversation withCristian Rebolledobrought the desire tobecome a follower ofChrist.

s HospitalityCommittee put togetheran event to celebrateChristmas at LdC andthe youth were put incharge of activities andgames. We put on apuppet show, paintedfaces, did makeovers,and just played with thekids. It was a blast anda good experience ofgiving for the group.

Carli Valle came to usthrough ManuelValenzuela. They datedoff and on for severalmonths and in that timeshe got to know Coté. InOctober, she wasinvited to participate in ayouth retreat.Sheseemed to have had anexcellent experience.Coté invited her to learnmore and in the end shedecided to get baptizedand is now reaching outto her friends throughthe weekend activitiesof the youth.
