We are all dots...waiting to be connected. A supernatural Songwriter seeks to enslave humanity by performing the original song that projected the universe into reality, and the mysterious Mechanist group must prevent the Songwriter from restoring perfection to a broken world that has been corrupted by sins. The Songwriter’s plans become complicated when the Mechanist group connects the brains of Dr. Laurence Jonker, a clinical pathologist, and his wife Irene Huxley, a blind employee at a daycare center, to the Septraveck. The Septraveck is a mystical musical instrument that Srele Carriet and the Allegros, God’s musicians, used to sing the perfect universe into existence before humans tarnished perfection with their sins and converted the universe into a struggling equation. The mental connection to the Septraveck provides sight to Irene, who has been blind all her life, and Laurence’s connection simply intensifies his suicidal contemplations and depression.
Laurence and Irene quickly discover that they are being manipulated so that the Songwriter can transform the world from an unbalanced universal equation into a perfect song. Irene and Laurence uncover the conspiracy of the Mechanist group and discover that the Mechanists have constructed a track system that extends across the universal equation in which all humans are variables. The Mechanists wish to extend the track system across space to the Relic Rainforest, a region that holds the key to preventing an invasion of Giokuians, alien guardians that wish to punish Greek mathematicians and other humans for unbalancing the universal equation. When the Songwriter reincarnates the seven individuals whose spirits are connected to the tracks and manipulates their emotions to extend the tracks away from the Relic Rainforest, Laurence and Irene must work with the corrupt Mechanist group to defeat the Songwriter.
The Mechanists struggle to prevent the imminent invasion of the Giokuians, and they also must contend with the Uxorials, remainders that emerged from the universal equation when it originally achieved the proper balance of positives and negatives. The Uxorials hope to mentor the Songwriter and to extend “The Tracks of Wasted Life” to Heaven where the original song that projected the universe into existence can be recovered. While the Songwriter searches for the original song, “The Song of the Sleeping Insomniacs,” Dr. Jonker and his wife discover an autistic child known as The Apocalyptic Card Dealer who plays cards with the universe to maintain its precious order and balance. The Mechanists battle The Songwriter to determine whether “The Tracks of Wasted Life” will extend to the Relic Rainforest or to Heavenly Scheria while Laurence and Irene explore their connection to the Septraveck and their roles as pawns in a dark conspiracy. The tracks are controlled by the emotions of the seven individuals whose spirits are connected to the tracks, and the Songwriter intends to reincarnate the seven individuals so that she can control their emotions to ensure that the tracks will extend to Heaven. Laurence and Irene also discover that they must use music to erase emotions from the minds of the Diovidians, another race of aliens that use their emotions to prevent the tracks from moving. It also appears that the Greek mathematicians unbalanced the universal equation by infecting it with their concept of numbers, and now, humanity must pay for the mistakes of the Greek mathematicians. The fabric of the universe is collapsing, and the dots will be connected with or without the Higher Power. The Songwriter will test the limits of her free will to determine how far she really can go in the fleeting physical world.
