Middle Tennessee State University could cut 48 majors under a cost-saving plan the university released today.
Among those on the list: plant biology, astronomy, public finance, outdoor recreation, medieval and renaissance art history, French, German, Spanish, jazz studies.
As well, several departments would be merged, including social work, criminal justice administration and the sociology and anthropology departments.
The report didn't have how much money that would save the university long term.
