The Seven Mountains Bluegrass Association, (established in 1982), is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The purpose of the organization is to preserve, promote, and enjoybluegrass music and to bring the music to an ever increasing number of people.

Seven Mountains Bluegrass Association “Hornpipe” is published by the Seven Mountains Bluegrass Association Inc., which is anon-profit organization. The SMBA mails this quarterly newslet-ter to the SMBA membership, other music associations, non-profitorganizations, promoters, radio, and print media at no charge. Thanks to Mike Lebo, our website guru, there is awhole new look and many new additions to theSMBA website. Check out each menu item for allthe latest in SMBA bluegrass information. Thank you Mike for all your hard work.
 
Starting at 2:00 PM, the SMBA jam is held on thethird Sunday of every month at the First UnitedMethodist Church in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.As guests and visitors arrive, musicians can jointhose on stage. When everyone has had a chance to play once through, we’ll start again. Experiencedmusicians will support with lead parts when needed.Also, for those who don’t want to play on-stagethere is another room available for our slow jam. Itis being run on a
mix of 
 
 Pete Wernick / Steve Kauf-man rules and generally less than 100 bpm. Jam-mandments are available on SMBA website and at the jams.
Everyone is encouraged to join either jamor move from one to the other.
 
At 3:00 PM the SMBA officers and board memberswill break for a short business meeting. Anyone canattend the meeting. Meanwhile, the jams continuesuninterrupted.
 
The public is being invited through newspaper an-nouncements. Refreshments are available. Please join us for a great time of music and fun.

Hello bluegrass fans. Warm weather and the festivalseason is just around the corner, according to mygroundhog Dover Doug. Our upcoming shows are wellworth the wait.
 
James King returns March 14, always a favorite whereever he performs. Bill Emerson and The Sweet DixieBand arrives April 11 and local favorite Dean Sapp onMay 9.If you haven’t seen our website for a while, take a look at the new format:Check the message board and chat room, I may be therelooking for someone to talk to. Our picnic will be Au-gust 15 at Allenberry. As always, there will be goodfood, great bluegrass music, prizes and a great fellow-ship. Come out and enjoy the very talented musiciansand singers we are blessed to have in the SMBA. Mark your calendar and don't miss this fun event.
 
Our first open mic/jam session was a success on January18 at the monthly meeting. We will continue also to holda slow jam as well for those musicians who don’t wantto get on stage. The next meeting will be February 15.Come join the fun.Our scholarship program will have an application in thisnewsletter and on the website. Anyone can apply to at-tend an instrument instruction program.There is an effort to put Bill Monroe on the US postagestamp. The 100

Jenny was part time bass player for Heart and Soul Bluegrass Band. Shewas a cancer survivor having undergone various bonemarrow transplants and chemotherapy. Our condo-lences to her husband Steve who sends thanks to allfor cards, letters, and prayers.
