THE MIRRORED SOULby Coral Hull"The universe begins to look more likea great thought than a great machine."-- James Jean, The Mysterious Universe
Art and ethics can only be anathema to one another when a society haslost its moral conscience and its spiritual connection to a universalconsciousness. As Ken Wilber writes, "Because the universe has direction,we ourselves have direction. There is meaning in the movement, intrinsicvalue in the embrace." Similarly does Ralph Waldo Emerson write, "We liein the lap of immense intelligence, which by any other name is Spirit. [...]We -- and all beings as such -- are drenched in this meaning, afloat in acurrent of care and profound value, ultimate significance, intrinsicawareness. We are part and parcel of this immense intelligence, this Spirit-in-action,this God-in-the-making ... " As sentient beings, we are a pond that reflectsthe surface of the soul of the world. As creative practitioners, we reflectthis process by the product of our creations. The landscape, and thesentient beings that inhabit it, must become our sacred mind. All must beour religion, our place of worship, our commune, our sanctuary and ourart. Our true potential can only be achieved by shifting our consciousnessfrom one of ego to one of multidimensionality and compassion. Lovecannot exist while we continue to destroy nature and to torture, maim andfeast on the corpses of murdered sentient beings. The slaughterhouse of the gut must be transformed into the temple of the heart, if we are toevolve both consciously and creatively.Creativity relies on a physical connection to the subject, so that theobserver becomes the observed. We cannot connect with that which wedestroy. Hence, when we destroy, we cannot create. As writer GeorgeBernard Shaw wrote: "We pray on Sundays that we may have light/ Toguide our footsteps on the path we tread;/ We are sick of war, we don'twant to fight,/ And yet we gorge ourselves upon the dead". To be non-caring to the suffering of the other, is to lack both spiritual and creativeinsight. As Helen Keller wrote, "The best and most beautiful things in theworld cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt within the heart. Throughout history, both creative thinkers and spiritual thinkers haveshared this same vision of world peace for all beings, from Thomas Edisonwho wrote: "Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are stillsavages", to the Buddha who taught; "To become vegetarian is to step intothe stream which leads to nirvana". Since consciousness affects matterand other consciousness around it, our thinking creates our reality both in

the spiritual and the physical world, until both worlds are intersecting, interlocking and existing simultaneously. Both are the one living, breathing, thinking universal consciousness expressed in different forms.Loving creativity is the way to universal truth. Therefore it would stand to reason that the less harm that I inflict uponother sentient beings, the more I am able to hold their peace and beautywithin my own soul. The more I am able to act as a living conduit for thebenevolent universal consciousness, the more I become not only a creator, but a co-creator who contributes to the conscious being that is theuniverse. The universe is evolving towards love. Any sentient being who isnot allowing themselves to become a part of this continuous process willsuffer as a result. Where l-o-v-e exists, suffering ceases to exist, sinceonce we become benevolent, the benevolent universal consciousnessreflects and creates alongside us, working towards our best interests. Andour best intentions are in the interests of all.Author Roger Penrose writes, "The universe is made of stories, not atoms". The landscape is consciousness and the sentient beings of consciousnessare the mirrored soul of our being, or that which we love. Creative artistsand creative thinkers can assist in this process by embracing and holdingexternal realities within. In this way, all knowledge becomes accessible, alltime eternal and the ongoing universal expansion of creativity possible.Posted with Love and Blessings
Walk Your Own Pathby Carrie Hartcarriehart. com
You will sometimes meet someone you believe is a soul mate; you feel theconnection on many levels, perhaps instantly. And as you get to knoweach other more, you begin to feel the connection deepen and you feelthat you must have an arrangement with this person that predated thislifetime.Do not assume, however, that this soul connection necessarily means thatyou are meant to be happily together for this lifetime. It may be that youare meant to be friends and allies, helping each other out. It may be thatyou are going to help each other in ways that even involve conflict andseparation, but with an end result that is beneficial to you. It may be thatyou are going to learn some lesson from each other and then go yourseparate ways. What you need to do with all relationships, including those that have thatinstant and deep connection, is let be. You need to allow all of life, including close relationships, flow and evolve. You need to let people bewho they are, not what you want them to be. And above all, you must not

try to control, push and prod, manipulate and orchestrate relationships.Have the courage and the heart, the centeredness, to follow your ownpath, to be who you are and love being who you are, no matter what.Shine out and show us who you are, so that people who are looking forsomeone exactly like you can find you. Do not allow setbacks or evenmajor betrayals to dampen your shine and your being. In life's journey you will encounter much, narrow paths blocked byavalanches, forks in the road shrouded in fog, deep valleys of darknessand bright sunny days in meadows of golden poppies. It is all a part of life. And as you walk your path, other people will join you for a time: a dearfriend, a lover, a spouse, children and parents. And then they may goaway. And through it all, the only constant is that you are you, that you have acore of truth within you and a path to walk, and if you allow your core of truth to tell you which fork in the road to take, if you allow that internalcompass to tell you which mountain to climb, then you will do well indeedand have a fulfilling, interesting life. If you go chasing after others, tryingto make things be other than how they naturally are, then you will findyourself suddenly awakening in a deep forest without knowing where toturn. You will find yourself lost and confused, because you have lost touchwith your own personal truth. And when this happens, you must just sit down in the forest, become verystill, and return to yourself. You must reach down and find yourself againbefore you continue walking, or else you will simply go around in circles, becoming more desperate and alone and lost. You are everything you need to be, just as you are, right now. You are thecenter of your own life. You are the beacon that shines and shows the way.Be glad when others walk beside you, enjoy their company, connect asclosely and deeply as you can, but always, always, shine your own lightand walk your own path and allow them to do the same.
