Compton
Yes sir.
Jones

Okay. At this time, I would ask, Mr. Compton, uh, uh, if you can, uh, relate back to August 20, 2008. Uh, I understand you were attending a soccer game at PRP High School?

Compton
Yes.
Jones
Okay. Can you elaborate on the details which
you observed that day?
Compton

Uh, yes. My family and I entered the soccer field, uh, which was adjacent to, uh, the PRP football practice field. Uh, upon entering, uh, basically had met another couple there, uh, to observe the game. Uh, probably five to ten minutes into, uh, our, uh, observation, uh, we did see the, uh, football players running on the field. I'm assuming they were sprints. They were running back and forth. Uh, the team seemed to be having a, uh, end-of-practice meeting. Uh, one thing that kind of drew our attention was, uh, when they was havin' the meeting, the coach was rather loud talkin' to his team. Uh, he did\u2026 At one time did make a comment to, uh, three to four players, uh, to come back over to the meeting, rather, uh, abruptly, basically, pointing them out to the other, other team members, telling them, or yelling at them, uh, to get back over here. It wasn't time for them to be taking a drink, and they was heading towards the, uh, water fountains that were, uh, next to the soccer field. Uh, we was there probably another, uh, seemed about five, ten minutes or so, and then we noticed one of the players had, uh, uh, looked like passed out on, on the, uh, uh, practice

field, uh, and some coaches were attending to them, or some adults, uh, were, was attending to him at that time. Uh, naturally, we went back to watching the game, uh, then turned back around and noticed they were lifting the young man off the field onto a, uh, cart of some type. Uh, like a John Deer flat bed cart, and took him over to the , uh, watering station and began running, uh, cold water on top of him, uh, with a water hose. Uh, continued watching the softball game, uh, and noticed the young man, uh, seemed very unresponsive over there at the water station. Uh, my wife and I kind of discussed, and my friend was concerned on, uh, how the young man was doing. Uh, once, uh\u2026 We continued watching the game.

Another gentleman, a black gentleman, began, uh, having some problems breathing apparently, uh, like an asthma attack, and we saw him starting walking off the field, assisted by some players, and he also went over to the watering station, uh, with about 15, 20 minutes seemed to pass, uh, with the young man being over there. Uh, we did hear, uh, some sirens, uh, from, uh, the main road. An ambulance apparently had been dispatched to, uh, the soccer field. Uh, but we wasn't sure, uh, you know, who called or what, you know, exactly what time the ambulance was dispatched.

Jones
Okay. Uh, and, if I can back up, the time you
arrived at the game was what time?
Compton
Uh, it was a little bit after 6:00; maybe, I'd say
6:05 or so.
Jones
Okay.
