The course intends to supply during S1, the basis for a better understanding of aspects of Textile Chemistry that are fundamental for the future professionals responsible for the production and development, in dyeing and finishing companies: influence of the chemical structure of dyes on the dyeing properties; Fundamental aspects of the macromolecular structure of fibres; Dyeing processes and/or cleaner technologies and effluent treatment. There is a large choice of options in S2 that allow the students to grasp emerging areas in the Textile Chemistry field: functional finishes, nanomaterials and microcapsules, surface finishing based on radiation or enzymes, and other techniques that contribute for the revolution that is happening with the textile materials in the direction of their greater functionality and interactivity with the body. The existence of this course is justified by the necessity of directing and preparing specialists in areas of Earth Sciences with vocation for exploration, evaluation, sustainable management and valorisation of the geological resources, also, contributing to a land management that includes the geological characterization as a fundamental instrument. Since geological resources are essentially non-renewable, it implies the duty of safeguard the possibility of its fruition as an attribute of the territory in which they occur (e.g., sustainable management of the exploitation and environmental impact). The degree program provides a thorough grounding in management, economics and foreign languages, complemented by quantitative methods, business law, and international relations necessary to tackle at a high technical level most international business problems. In order to achieve this, in the first and second year students should take compulsory courses on economics, business, at least one foreign language, mathematics, statistics and econometrics. This is the foundation upon which the third year of the program is based. The degree in Physics provides a solid education in Physics and Mathematics. During the first five semesters the students receive a general education both in theoretical and in experimental physics. The degree program provides a thorough grounding in economic theory, along with the technical tools, mathematics and statistics, to assist in mastering the theory. In order to achieve this, in the first and second year students should take compulsory courses on economic theory, mathematics, statistics and econometrics. This is the foundation upon which the rest of studies will be based. The third year curriculum is flexible enough to suit students interests and skills. It offers specialist options in all the main fields of economic science, management, public administration, political science and law.

The graduation program in Psychology consists of three years of basic courses in Psychology and related sciences and is organized in scientific areas. In each area the student has to obtain a given number of ECTS (180). Mechanical Engineering
The fourth year emphasizes specific mechanical engineering sciences and includes the first two curricular units of an optional specialization profile which may assume a technological aspect or promote specialization in a specific field of mechanical engineering. On the first semester of the fifth year the specialization profile is complemented by a third curricular unit and industrial management competences are reinforced. The entire fifth year integrates a technical and scientific project (dissertation) which can consist of fundamental and applied research in the aim of research programs, for example, or to run in industrial environment.

From the 4th year on, two branches are available: Environmental Technologies and Chemical and food technology. In the 9th semester, in parallel with a 5 elective courses in the corresponding specialization, there is an individual project in Biological Engineering aiming to develop basic competences associated to research methodology and to produce a dissertation plan.
