LeRay Planning Board Grants Site Approval to Northern Credit Union for New Branch Location Credit Union to finalize purchase and solicit bids from local contractors

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (March 11, 2013) Northern Credit Union announced that the LeRay Planning Board has granted final site plan approval for Northerns newest branch location on the west side of Route 11 in Evans Mills. Thursday's final approval by the Board provided Northern with permission to submit the site plan to the property owner for their final approval in order to complete the purchase of the 1.38 acres the 3,000 square foot branch will occupy. After purchase, Northern will begin soliciting local contractors for construction bids with plans to break ground in June, with the branch grand opening slated for early 2014. Northern has partnered with GYMO, P.C. for site engineering and architecture services for the new LeRay location. This approval is a pivotal step in the growth of the Credit Union and our continued efforts to provide our members with the convenience and accessibility they deserve from their Credit Union, said Dan St. Hilaire, President/CEO of Northern. The new innovative, technologyfocused location will provide competitive, quality financial services for members and potential members in the surrounding areas, he added. Having already received approval from the Jefferson County Planning Board and the Town of LeRay Zoning Board, the approval by the LeRay Planning board was the final step in the government agency approval process. Membership in Northern is open to any person living, working, worshiping or regularly conducting business in Jefferson, Lewis or Southern St. Lawrence counties. Other branch locations include two in Watertown with additional branches in Gouverneur, Lowville, Adams and Carthage.
