Transcriber, this is Detective Keith Roberts, Louisville Metro Police Homicide Squad. Today's date is September 9, 2008. The approximate time now is 1205 hours. This will be a taped statement from DaAndre Cole. This is, uh, statement will be in reference to Case file #08- 197.

Roberts

Uh, Mr. Cole, are you aware that the tape- recorder is on; and does this meet with your approval?

Cole
Yes Sir.

And for the record, could you please state your

Uh, I'm taking this statement in reference to the events that happened on the 20th of August, 2008 that occurred during the PRP football practice. Uh, if you can, describe the events of the practice from the beginning to the end of practice.

Uh, we, uh, went to practice. We, uh, did team stretch. Then we broke off into offense and defense. Did our li'le plays. Then we broke up into

, everybody individual practice. Then,
uh, between each station, we get a water break.
Roberts
Okay.
Cole

And, uh, I, I ' on't know how any of the other coaches do it, but our coach, like if we need water, he'll let us go. And, uh, after the individual period, then with the 7 on 7 and the offense and defense, uh, work with each other\u2026

Roberts
Okay.
Cole

\u2026and They had a question on the other team. And then after that, we, uh, we was about to go team where the other team met and played each other.

Roberts
Uh-huh.
Cole
Then there was some kids playin' around, so
we, uh, got in trouble and had to, uh, run.
Roberts
Okay. And what, who's your coach?
Cole
Uh, defensive coach?
Roberts
Yeah. The coach you said gives you all breaks
any time you wanta go?
Cole
Coach, uh, Webb.
Roberts
Coach Webb? Okay. And the practice usually
starts about what time?

Cole

Yes sir. He, he'll ask us\u2026 He's like, "Anyone need water?" And somebody 'ill say, "Yeah," and let 'em go.

Roberts

Okay. So you all basically\u2026 I don't know if you do it as a team, or individually. You all do it as a, as a position group?

Cole
Yeah. It's just that at the point-of-time in that
group.
Roberts
Okay. So it's, it's
Basically just that group will go any time they
want.
Cole
Yes sir.

Okay. Can you go any time you want to get
water?
Cole
Uh, like, I 'on't know, 'cause I ain't never asked.
