“Father Most Holy” presents us with a view of creation muchmaligned in modern biblical criticism. Not many today arewilling to see creation doxologically. To take such an approachrequires one to acknowledge that there is One worthy of

. Tomuch of modern biblical criticism such acknowledgment isanathema. But it is undeniable that the higher critics have hadsome insights. In particular, they have identified Biblicalthemes that have shadows in the literature of other ancient neareast cultures.The critics have established that there is a strongconnection between the creation account in Genesis and theBabylonian
