Field Trip to Chitralada Palace

Tuesday, 12 March 2013 Dear Parents, As part of our Exhibition unit Where we are in place in time we plan to take the year 6 students to Chitralada Palace to investigate some of the royal projects which have been developed by His Majesty the King. The palace has many working displays of projects (a working dairy, rice mill, ecofuel refining system to name a few) which have been designed to improve the health, wealth and lifestyle of people throughout the Kingdom. All of the Year 6 classes will travel to the palace by bus on Thursday 28th March departing NIST at 7.45am. We plan to return to NIST at around 2.00pm. Students who are on meal plan will have their snack and lunch provided and others should bring a suitable snack and lunch with them from home. All students should bring their drink bottle and their hat. The palace complex has a shop which sells goods that are produced by His Majestys projects. We are happy for students to buy some of these products and bring them back to school/home but ask that they do not bring excessive amounts of money in case they lose it. We have been extremely fortunate to have been given the opportunity to visit such an auspicious venue for our field trip. We would appreciate that you discuss with your child the importance of positive and respectful behaviour whilst at the palace. Likewise, correct dress will be very important please ensure your child comes in correct school uniform (not PE uniform) for the field trip including suitable covered shoes (with socks) for walking. Those not dressed appropriately may be denied access to the projects by the palace staff so it is very important students are dressed appropriately. We thank you for your support. Kind regards, The Year 6 Team
