-Grand Montréal. Cette modification au nom denotre section, approuvée par le Conseil National
de l’ACNU,
a pour but de mieux laprovenance des membres qui sont
de la grande région métropolitaine et même d’au
-delà. En effet, i
ls sont de l’
 île de Montréal
, de l’
 île de Laval, de la Rive-Sud, de laRive-Nord.
 Nous souhaitons ainsi reconnaître l’intérêt de tous les membres et susciter 
un encouragement à recruter de nouveaux membres et à proposer des activités dans lesdiverses communautés locales.

You have certainly noticed that we send you our messages recently under the name of UNAC-Greater Montréal. This change in our branch name, as approved by the National Board of UNAC, will better reflect the origin of members in the greater metropolitan region and beyond. In fact, they come from the Island of Montréal, the Island of Laval, the South-Shore and the North-Shore. We wish to gather their interest and to recruit new members as well as to propose activities in the various localcommunities

L’ACNU
-Grand Montréal
s’est associée à UNICEF
-
Québec et au représentant de l’Australie près l’OACI pour latenue d’un cocktail bénéfice à l’OACI, sous
le thème «
D’un continent à l’autre – 
 
Célébrer la Journée de l’ONU avec
la famille des Nations Unies à Montréal ».
L’événement fut un succès et plus de 125 personnes provenant des organisations du
domaine onusien établies à Montréal y ont assisté.
Tous les membres d’ACNU
-GrandMontréal y étaient invités.
 More than 125 guests from organizations members of the United Nations in Montréalattended the UN Day celebration organized on 21 October 2007 by INUCEF Québec and The representative of Australia to IACO with the collaboration of UNAC-Greater  Montréal. All members UNAC-Greater Montréal were invited.

L’UNESCO et la Bibliothèque du Congrès des
États-unis vont unir leursforces pour construire une Bibliothèque numérique mondiale. / 
 NewUNESCO-Library of Congress pact puts rare materials on Internet for public

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO) and the United States Library of Congress today signed a pact paving the way for the creation of a World Digital Library which will digitize rare materials fromlibraries and other cultural institutions globally and make them available free on the Internet.
La Bibliothèque numérique mondiale numérisera des documents uniques et ares
 provenant de bibliothèques et d’institutions culturelles du monde entier 
et les mettra à ladisposition gratuitement sur Internet. Parmi ces documents figurent des manuscrits, descartes, des livres, des partitions, des enregistrements sonores, des films, des imprimés etdes photographies.
Le prototype a été réalisé par la Bibliothèque du Congrès et l’UNESCO
, et cinq autrespartenaires : la Bibliothèque Alexandrina
, la Bibliothèque nationale d’
Égypte, laBibliothèque nationale du Brésil, la Bibliothèque nationale de Russie et la Bibliothèque
d’
État russe. Le prototype fonctionne en arabe, chinois, anglais, français, russe et
espagnol, les six langues officielles des Nations Unies, ainsi qu’en portugais. Sa
