Creating iPhone Ringtones

1. Find the song that you want and put it into iTunes. 2. Listen to the song and find a 30-second part in which you like. Write down the time frames. 3. In iTunes right click the song, click Get Info and then hit the options tab. Your screen should look similar to the following:

4. Next, check the boxes for start and stop time and insert the times you would like for your ringtone. After this, click ok. 5. Once you are done, you have made the song only play during a certain amount of time. Do not worry, this is not permanent, and you can undo it after this step. Right click the song and click Create AAC version. 6. Now here is a series of steps. You will see a new song just pop up and it should be underneath the original. Right click it and hit Show in Explorer, Mac will have something similar. 7. Cut the song out of that folder and paste in in a folder called ringtones. You will have to create this folder and it is purely for organization purposes. 8. Here we run into a problem with some computers. Check back soon if you are a mac user. I do not own a mac at the moment. For PC users, we have to turn a setting on. Follow these steps: search for Folder OptionsView tab uncheck Hide extensions for known file types and click apply and then ok

9. Now you should see the file extension .m4a at the end of your music file. Rename it to m4r Example Pokmon Dubstep Ringtone.m4a Pokmon Dubstep Ringtone.m4r 10. Click and drag that file into iTunes and you will see a tones section on the right pane. You are now ready to create more ringtones and add them to your phone! Have fun This tutorial is dedicated to Dannel, the most supportive person, whom is not family, in my life and Nicolette, who said a Pokmon Ringtone would be awesome.
