ABSTRACT
Nuclear issues of North Korea and Iran frequently attracting news coverage. However, it is clearlyseen that the world powers, especially the United States handled the crises with dual psyche. Indeciphering the reasoning behind this attitude, it was found out that this issue is not about nuclearproliferation per say. It is being manipulated by United States to satisfy their national interest andat the same time protecting his alliance. The implication of this attitude towards internationalpolitics are numerous. At the least it worsen the anarcishm of international relation. At the otherscale it might encourage non-nuclear state towards proliferation as a means of deterrence. Non-nuclear weapon states might also interpret this situation as the blatant monopoly of world powertowards nuclear technology that might constitute the energy solution of the future. Additionally,Islamic countries might saw this signal as the confrontation with the Western world due to thedeep entrenched Islamopohabia. Consequently, it is suggested that the Islamic world shouldstrengthened their own alliance through the OIC and the peace-loving countries of the worldshould pressure the world powers to opt for dialogue in settling the issue. Finally the NPTproponents should give more emphasis on eliminating the existing nuclear weapon inventoryrather than shouting on the presumed nuclear proliferation. Completion of this paper had beenachieved after conducting the research through various books, journals and internet sites.ii
