Description
Seventh-day Adventist theology of the fulfilment of Daniel's prophecy of the 70 Weeks requires that Jesus died at Passover on Friday in 31 AD. By SDA calculations, the 70 Weeks of Daniel began at Artaxerxes Longimanus' Decree to Rebuild Jerusalem in 457 BC, and ended with Stephen's martyrdom in 34 AD.
Thus, Passover in 31 AD would be the "middle of the 70th week" on which they say the Messiah was "cut off". Jesus then rose on the third day, which the Bible states, was the first day of the week, Sunday.
However, the Jewish calendar and USNO astronomical calculations prove that Passover, 14 Nisan in 31 AD fell on a Monday, leaving Christ in the tomb for 7 days and 6 nights, according to Seventh-day Adventism.
This fact disproves the entire platform of their so-called "Investigative Judgment" beginning in Heaven in 1844.
