10-Year Reunion

Fellow Elks:

Can you believe that it has been 10 years since we graduated from Pojoaque High School? It’s
hard to imagine that 10 years can go by so quickly, but nevertheless, here we are, 10 years down
the road, making our mark on the world. So, believe it or not, the time has come for us to go back
to 1999 and celebrate our 10-YEAR REUNION!!

Don’t miss this great opportunity to renew “old” friendships as well as mingle with classmates that
you may not have known so well or just had lost touch with throughout the years. You might even
have a chance to visit with some of our teachers. We have a great weekend planned, so please
attend. Sharing old memories and making new ones just won’t be the same without you!

The reunion weekend will get started on Friday night, July 31, 2009 at an Isotope Game in Albu-
querque. On Saturday, we will be having a school tour and picnic. Please feel free to bring your
families to this event. The “Big Event” will be on Saturday evening at Anthony’s at the Delta in
Española and will include dinner, a slideshow, awards, and a DJ-hosted dance party. To con-
clude the weekend festivities, we’d like to invite everyone to attend a Sunday Mass at Nuestra
Señora de Guadalupe Church in Pojoaque for a final opportunity to say your farewells.

Included with this letter is the reunion registration packet. Please return all of the necessary
forms and payments to Gabriel by their due dates. If you can not attend the reunion, we still want
to hear from you, so please write or email us. If you have any questions regarding the reunion, or
would like to offer your assistance in organizing an event, please contact Elena Prager (neé Tala-

5:15 PM: Isotope game and dinner at Isotope Park in Albuquerque— Get reacquainted with your class-
mates while watching the Albuquerque Isotopes take on the Oklahoma City Redhawks. This pre-reunion
gathering will be a time for you and your family to enjoy a field-side dinner and mingle with your fellow Elk
and Elkettes and watch fireworks after the game!
The price for the Isotope game on Friday, July 31, 2009 is $25.00 per adult (ages 13+), $12.50 for chil-
dren ages 3-12, and it is free for ages 2 and under. This cost is separate from the other reunion events. A
final list of attendees needs to be submitted to the Isotope catering office May 30, 2009, so if you plan on
attending the Isotope game, please send this payment by May 22, 2009.
Saturday, August 1, 2009
11:00 AM: Tour of Pojoaque High School— Since our school is now the Intermediate school, take a look
at the new high school that the current PHS students attend. I have a feeling that there are less hallway
traffic jams between classes there. . .
12:00 PM: Potluck Family Picnic at Pojoaque High School— Bring your significant other and your kids to
the Potluck Family Picnic at Pojoaque High School. Burgers, hot dogs, and drinks (water and soda) will be
provided. Please bring a salad, dessert, snack food, fruit, chips, etc. Remember to bring serving utensils
for your dish, as well as chairs and/or a blanket to enjoy your picnic on!
5:30 PM: Dinner/Dance at Anthony’s at the Delta in Española— Come and reminisce about high school
and enjoy some of the finest cuisine northern New Mexico has to offer at a lovely dinner and dance for
graduates and their significant others. There will be awards, a slideshow with old photos from school, and
fun music from the late 90’s! There will also be the passing of the torch to the next reunion planning com-
mittee!
We need your help with the slideshow. If you have any photos of our time at PHS you would like to in-
clude, please send them in with your registration. If you would like them returned, please include your
name on the back of the photos. Alternatively, you can email photos to pojoclassof1999@gmail.com.

The price of the reunion is $50.00. This price includes: Saturday night dinner/dance (site rental, plated
dinner, catering staff service charge, DJ/entertainment, decorations, bartender, photography, awards), ex-
tensive alumni search, long-distance phone charges, printing, mailings, postage, supplies, media an-
nouncements and advertising, name tags, gratuity, NM sales tax, and all other costs associated with pro-
ducing a reunion. Please mail this payment in by June 19, 2009.

Finally, we have some sad news. Several of our classmates have passed away since graduation. They
are: Willie Garcia, Daniel Romero, Thomas Pino, and Dion Martinez. We are saddened by their passing
and would like to remember them as part of the reunion. On the enclosed registration form, you'll find a
space in which to offer an optional donation in remembrance. These donations will be split between the
four families.

Our classmate, Cristal Garcia, has organized a pre-game dinner for us at Isotope Park on
Friday, July 31, 2009! This will be a time for us to relax with our friends and families as
we enjoy a delicious picnic. Here is what is lined up:
• The all-you-can-eat menu includes: hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ pulled pork,
boneless chicken breast, baked beans, cole slaw, tortilla chips & salsa, cook-
ies & brownies, and unlimited soft drinks.
• Lower level third base line seats
• Game night souvenir
• Fireworks after the game!

12, and free for children 2 and under.

The back of this page is a sheet for you to fill out to
be included in our Classmate Bio Book, a book to
fill everybody in about what you have been up to for
the last 10 years. There are two options for you to
complete this:

1) Find a couple of pictures and glue them to the page. Grab a pen and write
a couple of sentences about your life between then and now. Mail it in
with your registration.

2) Open up a word processor. Design your own page— import pictures from
your digital camera and include all the information shown on back. When
you are done, save your document as an .rtf file or a PDF file and email it

It doesn’t matter which you choose to do, but your classmates would LOVE to
know what you have been up to for the last decade. Be sure to include pic-
tures of your kids, your pets, your work, any fun trips you have been on, or
anything else you would like to share. Your page is especially important if
you don’t plan on coming to the reunion since you can’t update classmates
