OneofourFellowship'sgreatestneeds
educationallyhasbeentoprovideadequate
trainingforourpastors.Theneedhasbeen
forboththetrainingofstudentclergyand
thecontinuingeducationofclergy.Ihave
beenblessedwiththeopportunityto
announceanewprogramcalled"Orien-
tationtoMCCPastoring"thatwillbe
sponsoredbySamaritanCollegenext
summer.Thisprogramwasdesignedbythe
SamaritanManagementTeamatitsMarch
1983meeting.Ithassincebeenrevised
basedonfeedbackfromtheClergyCre-
dentialsandConcernsCommittee,the
BoardofElders,thefacultyofSamaritan
College,andnumerousotherindividuals
throughoutUFMCC.
TheOrientationtoMCCPastoringis
designedtoprovidetrainingtostudent
clergyandcontinuingeducationtoclergy
inthepracticalaspectsofpastoringin
MCC.Theentireprogramisdesignedasa
sixweekintensiveseriesofseminars.
Participantswillbeabletoregisterfortwo
weekblocksoftheprogram.TheCCCC
recommendedthatpartsoftheprogrambe
offeredatdifferentlocationstohelpmake
transportationcostreasonable.Forthe
summerof1984,threeMCC'shavegra-
ciouslyofferedtoco-sponsorpartsofthe
program.Thesechurcheswillbeproviding
classroomspace,coordinatinghousing,and
arranginglunchesonthedaysclasseswill
bemeeting.Twoofthe2-weekblockwill
beofferedonlyinLosAngeles.Theseare
