I request permission to spend one month testing, interviewing, and implementing theintroduction of a new organic tee-shirt line. This tee-shirt line will be integrated into thecurrent product mix in order to increase sales. This integration will promote increased profitability, create consistent repeat customers, decrease new product introduction backlash, and promote brand awareness of the new line to customer market.
Present System
At present, Aldo Group consists of men and women’s shoes, accessories, and shoe care. These categories have produced a maximum profit value, but due to the economicrecession, sales have decreased. The new tee-shirt line will be a remedial approach tosolve the decrease in sales.
Problems with the Present System
The present system worked adequately until the current economic recession. The presentsystem must be revised in order to spark an increase in sales, customer recognition, andrepeat customers.
Objectives
To solve the decrease in sales for Aldo Group, the company needs to implement this neworganic tee-shirt line into their product mix. This will do the following:
•
Provide a new product category that customers will purchase
•
Create customer loyalty to the Aldo brand
•
Promote consistent repeat customers
•
Increase awareness of sustainable materials in clothing and the beneficialenvironmental impact.
Proposed Solution
I propose to solve Aldo Group’s decrease in sales by developing and integrating a new product line into their existing product categories. The new product line will be anorganic casual tee- shirt line, which will be the beginning of Aldo offering casual, stapleclothing items. I will research two other similar companies who have successfullyintegrated a new product line and one who failed to do so. Furthermore, I will interviewtwo Aldo store managers and the district manager in the Midwest. This will allow me togather their insights of the new product line and if they believe it will be successful toincrease profits as well as promote customer acceptance. Another research method I willuse is a survey completed by the customers in order to find out how they interpret thenew line.

I like your format and how you designed a way to evaluate. It seems very cohesive and I think all you need is a table of contents. But everything else looks really good!
Also, do not forget to add a table of contents and what you expect the decision maker to do once he/she receives this proposal
Great detailed content. I liked your objectives. They are clear and easy to understand. I would try to organize the proposal into fewer subheadings, though, by simply placing similar topics together. "Testing the Program" should be combined with research and interviewing because you are essentially gathering data to decide how to solve the current problem. Similarly, "present system". "problems" and "solutions" can be grouped together under "problem statement." I would just use the problems statement we wrote earlier rather than having three separate sections. Also, not sure if a proposal should include the actual survey since you are only trying to give an idea as to how the study is going to be carried out. By simply stating that you are going to use surveys and describing them a bit should be sufficient. But I am not sure about that! Otherwise, this a well-explained proposal that just needs a little rearranging of sections!
I think this sounds like a great proposal - the survey research questions are for sure good. One note, I think its "t-shirt" and not "tee-shirt" but I could be wrong about that or it could be a part of your marketing ploy. I think your thoughts about Aldo at Rosedale v. Aldo at the Mall of America is spot on as well.
