How to select a PLCC device(ABEL or Synario PLD)?
PLCC devices are grouped with PLDs in Synario and ABEL products.
Devices.txt
Before you can select a PLCC device, you must have the appropriatedevice kit installed. In most cases, this device kit will be the PLDDevice Kit (which is installed automatically with ABEL). If you areusing Synario Programmable IC Entry or Synario System Entry, thePLD Device Kit (called Syn-PLD) is purchased separately from the baseproduct.After installing the device kit(s), check the
devices.txt
file forinformation on the PLCC device you want to use.To view the devices.txt file, do the following:From the Project Navigator's Help menu, click on
Search for Help on
.Type in
Devices.txt
in the Index/Search text field.Click on the
Display
button.
Choosing a Device
After finding your device in devices.txt, select the device for yourproject in the Choose Device dialog box. You can access it by doing thefollowing:1. In the Project Navigator, open an IC Design project or use
File:New
to create a new IC Design Project (refer to the online help forinformation on how to create an IC Design Project).2. Double-click on the device icon () in the Sources window.3. The Choose Device dialog box contains the titles of the device kitscurrently licensed for this Project Navigator installation. Pick adevice kit from this list and the Device box below will be updatedwith the devices supported by that kit.4. You can pick a device from this list, or enter a device name. If youenter a name, it must match a device in the listing (the casedoesn't have to match).5. Click on the
OK
button to select the device entered in the Devicetext box as the new device for the project.
