Thanks or taking the time to review this packet o inormation. I think it will be helpul in giving you a littlemore insight into all that is going on at SSCC. This report really shows the stewardship o our resources – sta,nances, acilities and people. I think it is an exciting look at the ministry o SSCC. Please take your time to readthrough it.Obviously the year 2008 was a historical year in the lie o SSCC as we moved into our new church home hereon Frederica Road. It was a pretty exciting move on the rst Sunday in March, 2008. Immediately, we beganto see more new aces joining us or worship and getting involved with SSCC. It was also exciting to see manylives being changed by Jesus Christ. It was also a bit overwhelming as the pace o ministry seemed to pick up,and there was a lot o change. And as we all know, change is not always un, but I think our sta and churchbody are a lot more settled into our new home as we have moved into 2009. The highlights o 2008 include many new people joining us, and many new people making decisions orChrist. We had approximately 75 baptisms throughout 2008 with many more people also starting a relation-ship with Jesus. As you will see through the ollowing ministry reports, we grew in pretty much every area o ministry during 2008 all the while maintaining the same number o sta. I greatly appreciate our incrediblesta. They are a bunch o hardworking, sel–motivated, and competent servants o Christ. We are truly blessedto have such a committed team o people working with us. I am also grateul to our numerous volunteers thathelp us reach up, reach in and reach out on a weekly basis. As we move orward into 2009, we ace some ongoing challenges and have areas or continued growth. Ournancial stewardship will obviously be an area o prayer and commitment in light o our current building debtand the current state o our economy. I trust and pray that God will show Himsel incredibly aithul even dur-ing tough times such as these. We must also continue to grow in areas o discipleship. One o our big areas o ocus in 2009 is to grow in thearea o connecting people or the purpose o spiritual growth. We want to do all that we can to continuallymake it as easy as possible or people to take their next step into spiritual maturity.
Another area we need to pursue in order to grow and expand is our overall communication to the body. We didtake some steps orward this year, but have learned that our continued growth through the last several yearshas made our communication that much more difcult. We are looking or ways to more eectively communi-cate with the body as a whole so that each o you will eel more inormed and involved as we move orward.
Our Reach Out component is also an area we need to grow in as a body, especially in missions. We are doingsome great things with missions around the globe as well as trying to make a bigger dierence in our ownbackyard. We need to become more eective in letting the body become aware o what is going on here sothat our church can develop a much greater heart or reaching out in missions. We have always said at SSCC that we want to do a “ew things well.” This also seems to be a year to reallyinspect what we are doing to ensure that we are being eective stewards o our times and resources. With allthe growth and transition o 2008, 2009 seems to be a year or making sure we are moving orward in the rightdirection. As we move into 2009, I pray that each o us will nd ourselves more committed to Jesus and more commit-ted to what He is doing here at SSCC. We will need to worship, give, grow, and serve like never beore. I youcall SSCC your church home, but still haven’t made a commitment to really reach in to nd a small group, andreach out by nding a place to serve and volunteer, let this be the year that you jump in with both eet. You arewanted and needed. Thanks so much or all that each o you do or the sake o His kingdom. God bless.
