Troubled visual effects studio Rhythm & Hues may have some jobs available, if you speak standard Mandarin. The company just announced bankruptcy and layoffs in the U.S., and now its actively pursuing employees for its shingle in Taiwan, according to the China Post.

Rhythm & Hues is recruiting special effects engineers and 3D animation artists at a job fair at the National Chung Hsing University in Taichung. R&H declared bankruptcy only hours after it wonthe Oscar for Best Visual Effects at the BAFTA awards and right before it won an Oscar, bothfor work on "Life of Pi."Troubled visual effects studio Rhythm & Hues may have some jobs available, if you speak standard Mandarin. The company just announced bankruptcy and layoffs in the U.S., and now itsactively pursuing employees for its shingle in Taiwan, according to the China Post.R&H is recruiting special effects engineers and 3D animation artists at a job fair at the NationalChung Hsing University in Taichung. R&H declared bankruptcy only hours after it won theOscar for Best Visual Effects at the BAFTA awards and right before it won an Oscar, both for work on "Life of Pi."After announcing the bankruptcy and staff reductions, the visual effects portion of the industrystarted to question the viability of sustaining the business in the United States while constantly being undercut by cheaper foreign labor and tax subsidies. Other facilities have moved overseasand R&H maintains facilities in India, Malaysia and Taiwan. The company has received interestfrom a stalking horse bidder, JS Communications, a South Korean company who may movemore of the company to Asia.R&H received $17 million in loans from Universal and Fox to continue work on Universal's"R.I.P.D.," and Fox's "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters."
