TWO DEAD, MASS MURDERERON THE LOOSE?

When Martha was found dead,many people jumped to the conclusionthat it was Lennie. They then, pulledtogether a search party and left theranch with many lugar guns, people who saw them leave said that Mr.Curley Moss was determined to ﬁnd“The big son

bitch and kill himhimself” as Mr. Moss said. Therefore, the police did thinkthat Mr. Curley Moss was responsiblefor the death of Lennie at ﬁrst, butthen we found out that Lennie Small was already dead when Curley Mossand Slim Tennant found him lying dead next to his old friend GeorgeMilton who was sitting there crying.Mr. Matt Carlson’s lugar was madethe police suspect it was suicide. This would have been the best scenario, butthen we saw where the gunshot wound was straight at the back of his head.We then found out that this spot isimpossible to reach with a lugar by yourself, especially in the position he was in. The police are now moving ontoother possibilities. “We now thinkthat whoever was responsible for themurder of Martha Moss was alsoresponsible for the murder of LennieSmall , even though the two deaths were completely di

erent from eachother.It is very bad that there could stillbe a murderer on the loose in thestreets of Soledad. Police are warning everyone to be on your guard, for youdon’t want to be the next Lennie Smallor Martha Moss. “We are allconstantly on alert for moreinformation.” reports police chief Smith. We hope they will be able toﬁnd the murderer and lock him up.Martha Moss, the wife of Curley Moss, who will inherit a ranch from hisfather, in a few years was murdered a week go. We have found someevidence that make us question whether her death was accidental, or if it was indeed intentional and well

planned. At ﬁrst everyone thought that she was killed by accident because many people saw Lennie Small enter thebarn, yet some people claim that they saw Lennie exit before Martha evenentered the barn. Therefore wedismissed it as an accident right away.But then, yesterday we were toldabout the death of Lennie Small. “Wenow wonder whether their deaths wereconnected. If so there is another killerout there.” Comments Police Chief Smith. If this is so, then we are all indanger. We have been warned to be onour guard at all times.“The murdering bastard is already dead, we have nothing to worry about.” says Curley Moss, successfulhusband of murder victim. Then wehave the people defending Mr. LennieSmall. “Lennie wudn’t do nothing likethat, I swear it.” defends GeorgeMilton. Slim Tennant is a bit morediplomatic. “I’m sure he didn’t meanto, the bastard is way too strong for hisown good. He can’t control himself. Heain’t smart enough.” Many otherpeople they worked with agreed withMr. Slim Tennant.

AweekagoMarthaMoss,thewifeofMr.CurleyMoss(thesuccessfulrancherwhowillinheritaranchfromhisfatherinafewyears)wasmurdered.Thishappenedatherveryownfather‐in‐lawsranch.Shewasbornin1901anddiedattheageof25.ShegrewupinSalinasandmovedtotheranchacoupleyearsagotomarryCurleyMoss.Sofarnooneknowsforsurewhodidthistosuchaninnocentperson.Itisapparentthatwhoeverdiddothis,didn’tplanitverywell,shewasfoundinthestableoftheranchdead,afterafewmenworkingattheranchsawherenteritahalfhourbeforeshewasfound.SomeoftheranchersthinkthatamanbythenameofLennieSmallwasalsointheranchatthetimeofherdeath.ManypeoplefromtheranchthinkthatitwasLenniethatmurderedher.“Itwasthatbigbastard,theonethatcrushedmyhand.Ijustknowitwas,”saysCurleyMossthehusbandofthedeceased.Othershavecometohisdefense,includingbothhisformerfriendsGeorgeMiltonandSlimTennant.“Hedidn’tmeanhernoharm,Iswearhedidn’t”saysGeorgeMilton,thefriendLennietravelswith.“He’stoostrongforhisowngood.”SaysSlimTennant,whosharedaroomwithbothLennieSmallandGeorgeMilton.Marthadidmanythingsinherlife.Shegrewupinasmalltownwithhermother,butgotinaPightwhenshesuspectedhermotherofstealingthelettershehadn’tgottenfromthemanwhosaidshecouldhavebeeninthepictures.ThatwaswhenshedecidedtomoveoutandmarryCurleyMoss.Hestillthinksshewasveryhappyaboutthechoiceshemadeaboutthat.Shewasaverybeautifulwomanwhowasmisunderstoodandwasn’tpaidmuchattentionto,butcouldbekindandunderstandingifpeoplestoppedtotellherwhatwaswrong.Itisapitythatshewaskilled.Wewillallhaveachancetopayourrespectstoherintwodaystimeatherfuneral,whichwillbeheldinSt.Steven'schurch.Everyoneiswelcometocomeitwillstartatone.Shewasalovelywoman.WhenIgottomeether,shewassosweet,soeasytotalkto.Manyofusareverysadtoseehergone.
