Yesterday, there have been two mysterious deaths in the ranch ownedby Robert Cook. Rumors say these two deaths were connected.A few weeks ago he had a fight on the ranch that might had lead tothis incident yesterday. Lennie Small had a fight with CurleyCook, Robert Cook's son. Curley Cook has been working at thisranch for a while and is known for being strong. Lennie Smallhas gotten mad and it ended up as a fistfight. As Curley recalls,"First, we was just a scaredy-cat an' I was just punchin' him butthen George said something he didn't had no reason to say andmade him grab my fist. Next thin' I kno' I had a broken arm. Iswear that that he want'd to kill me an' my wife...I'm happy hedidn't kill me but now my wife's dead 'cause of that beast."Before Lennie Small's death, he has killed Margaret Cook earlier inthe day in the barn on the same ranch. The first rancher to find out about thisincident was Candy Howard and let all the others know. As the otherranchers were still
surprised about this news,
they also found Lennie Smallmissing. They tracked him down at a river near the ranch, already dead withGeorge Milton by his side. The Ranchers say Lennie Small stole CarlsonGriffen's gun and was going to try and kill George Milton but George Miltonmanaged to defend himself and instead killing Lennie Small.Lennie Small has mental disabilities and has been living with ClaraSmall until she passed away, from then George Milton has been taking careof him. Due to his mental disabilities, he depends on George Milton 24/7 forhis protection and help. He has a great love for animals and likes to pet furythings. He used to pet mice that he got from Clara Small but after her death,he has been keeping dead mice in his pocket. Candy Howard has noticedthis and has given him a puppy to pet but sadly Lennie doesn't understandhis strength and accidentally killed it. Maybe this had
foreshadowed this sadevent that has happened yesterday.George Milton is Lennie Small's long time companion since ClaraSmall passed away. George Milton has known Lennie Small since he was achild. I had an interview with Slim Slack and he said,"George is smart an' I can tell he was tryin' to protect poorLennie. He'd taken such good care of Lennie. I feel sorry for'em 'cause they couldn't get their own place. An' Lennie can'ttend no rabbits anymore."Lennie Small and George Milton came from Weeds where they havebeen doing the same job. They have just moved to Soledad a month ago and was planning to buy their own place right after they got their pay at the endof the month with Candy Griffen. Did George kill Lennie to defend himself or was it on purpose? The police are now
investigating
further about the case.
