Creating Lists in Thunderbird
Do you have groups of people you routinely send various emails
for? Tired of always typing all the names? Create “lists” in
your address book:1.

Open your Address Book 2.

Click the button for "New List3.

Name it and fill in any other details you may want4.

You can either begin typing names of contacts (theywill pop up and you can select them so you don't have totype the whole thing), or you can drag and drop namesfrom your address book into your list.5.

Lists can contain other lists. For instance, my "Nandua"list contains Nandua 6th, Nandua 7th, Nandua 8th,Nandua Secial Ed, and Nandua PE & Electives.

Teacher Tool Highlight
 - I think I have mentioned this site before, but it is worth a second
look. Teachers’ Domain has resources for the arts (music and visual), LanguageArts (“reading and viewing” and “writing and speaking”), Mathematics (number
and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement and data analysis & probability),Science (earth and space science, engineering, life science and physical science)and Social Studies (US History resources begin with the emergence of modernAmerica (1890-1930) and go through contemporary US).Resources include video, lesson plans, pictures, Flash (interactive) files, studentactivities and interactive web pages. The resources are gleaned from public TV(think NOVA, Frontline, etc.). The site is free to use, but you will need toregister.

The PocketMod
PcoketMod calls themselves the free recyclable personal organizer. I see it as a great tool forstudents to create customized mini-study guides. A single sheet of paper will fold into a 2 ½
X 4 inch “book”. There are several page options, many are customizable, meaning the
students can create a list or enter text of material they need to know. I fit the entire essentialknowledge for USI.2a-d in a single PocketMod.
Cover
 –

customize with name, address, phone and email (“clear all” will delete info from
previous user)Blank
 –
a blank page, can be used for writing or drawingWriting Guides offers blank lines and grids, including music staffsCalendar offers daily, weekly, monthly and yearly calendarsOrganizers offers lists
 –

the “simple list” can be customized with text
Personal offers a page on which students can enter a title and text, it will need to be clearedbefore entering text for a new pageReference offers conversion factors and math formulas (along with tip tables and Morsecode)Games offers blank Dots, Tic Tac Toe, and Sudoku as well as a random Sudoku gameI think the most useful page templates are the simple list under organizers and the custompage in the personal folder. Students create the pages and drag them onto the layout. Onceprinted, trim the edges, two folds, a cut and a twist and the study guide is ready.
I’d be happy to show you jus
t how easy it is, and I would be happy to help you and yourstudents in the lab creating these.
