After Cobras invasion of the Southeast Asian nation of Nanzhao, the G.I. JOE team thinks Snake Eyes is dead, but hes agreed to join the ninja clan of his sword-brother, Storm Shadow. Before heading to Tokyo, though, he visits the Hard Master in New York. He reassures him that he has not given in to the Arashikage: he is infiltrating the clan in order to destroy it from within. When Snake Eyes arrives in Tokyo, Storm Shadow greets him enthusiastically and reveals their first target: Zartan!
