The Purana‘Ekadasi,’ Lord Vishnu toldher that whoever worshipshim on this day will reach‘Vaikunta’ (heaven). The‘Vaikunta Dwaram’ or ‘thegate to the heaven’ is openedon this day. This is thepassage encircling theinnermost sanctum of theLord. Scores of devoteesqueue up to pass through theGate of Vaikunta in thetemples. Many devoteesvisited from various parts ofUnited States on Thursday,Jan 8th for Bhajans and hada glimpse of Lord Sainathfrom the Vikuntha Dwaram.The Saibaba Temple Societyof Ohio bought 7.75 acres ofland in 2006 to build abeautiful temple for LordSainath. Mrs.Baanumadespecialflowergarlandfor SaiBaba.Thebhajansstartedat 7.30p.m with arti of Lord Sai Nath.Mrs. Sangita, Mr. Rao. Mrs.Nancy recited the soulfulbhajan in their melodiousvoice. Every body wasengrossed in the bhajans. At9.30 Shej arti wasperformed. Every body haddinner prasad at the end ofprogramme.

On Thursday, Nov 29, 2007I went to Sai Baba temple inMylapore. I entered thetemple at 10.30 AM at 10.40when I wanted to subscribefor Anna Daan, I found mypurse missing. Mandir isflooded with devotees on alldays, especially onThursdays, it’s packed. Iwas sure at 10.30 I had mypurse in my handbag,because my husband gaveme money for thesubscription, I had kept themoney in my purse and putit inside the bag. It was ourwedding anniversary and Iwas terribly upset, to be veryhonest, I could not praysincerely that day. I had allmy cards in the purse.Fortunately, there were acouple of police constablesin the temple and I lodged acomplaint immediately withthem and blocked my cardsby calling the banks from thetemple itself. That day Ireturned home with a heavyheart and prayed to SAI MAto get back my purse withthe cards, because mypurse had all the cards likemedical, pan, etc. Dayselapsed, months elapsed.Suddenly on 22 March 2008,I got a call on my cell from agentleman that he had foundmy purse. He told me thatwhile he was standing on thebus stand, he saw my purseon the road, he picked it upand found a few cards alongwith my business card. Hecalled me immediately themoment he saw my businesscard. He said, in a couple ofhours he will let me know asto where I should go and pickup the purse. I was skepticaland could not believe at thefirst instance. Thatgentleman gave his contactnumber to me. I called myhusband who was away, toget in touch with thatgentleman to collect thepurse. In the evening whenmy husband was returningfrom office, he went to thatgentleman’s house to collectthe purse. My husband wassurprised to receive thepurse along with Sai’sprasad. That gentleman hadbeen to Shirdi and had justreturned the previous day. Hehas given a couple of rarephotographs of SAI MA andUdi along with the purse. WEWERE SPELL BOUND.

The messages given byBaba can be, in commonparlance, called Hisphilosophy. Lord Sainath’sPhilosopy consists of fiveelements, the way humanbody consists of five elementsand the way for achieving theultimate goal, the humanbeings have shed five things1. Five Pranas (vital forces),2. Five senses, 3. Mind, 4.Intellect, 5. Ego. The fiveelements of Lord Sainath’sphilosophy are: 1.Love, 2.Forgiveness, 3. Charity, 4.Devotion and 5. UniversalBrotherhood.

Baba byhis inscrutable actions andleelas conveyed to hisdevotees to inculcate thevirtue of forgiveness. Babaforgave the banias whorefused to give oil for lightingthe lamps. However, whenLord Sainath of Shirdi lightedthe lamps with water, thebanias realized their mistakeand asked for Baba’s pardon.Baba pardoned the banias.By this leela Baba conveyedthat we should forgive peoplewho realize their mistakes

Baba usedto say that He does not needany paraphernalia ofworship either Eight fold orSixteen fold. “I RESTTHERE WHERE THERE ISFULL DEVOTION” Devotionconsists of Firm Faith andPersevarance i.e. Shradhaand Saburi. In chapter 28and 29 of Sat Charitra gavestory of His Guru whileaddressing Mrs. Radha BaiDeshmukh who was bentupon getting Guru mantrafrom Lord Sainath of Shirdi“I had a guru who was agreat saint and mostmerciful. I served him long,very long; still he would notblow any mantra into myears. I had a keen desire,never to leave him, but tostay with him and serve himand at all costs receive someinstructions from him. Buthe had his own way. He firstgot my head shaved andasked me two pice asDakshina. I gave the sameat once. If you say, that asmy Guru was perfect, whyshould he ask for money andhow should he be calleddesireless? I replied plainlythat he never cared forcoins. What had he to dowith them? His two pice were1) Firm Faith and 2)Patience or Perseverance. Iresorted to my Guru for 12years. He brought me up.There was no dearth of foodand clothing. He was full oflove say, he was loveincarnate. How can Idescribe it? He loved me themost. Rare is the Guru likehim. When I looked at himhe seemed as if he was indeep meditation and then weboth were filled with bliss.Night and day I gazed at himwith no thought of hungerand thirst. Without him I feltrestless. I had no otherobject to meditate, nor anyother thing than my Guru toattend. He was sole refuge.My mind was always fixed onhim. This is ONE PICE-DAKSHINA.
SABURI
(patience orperseverance) is the otherpice. I waited patiently andvery long on my Guru andserved him. This Saburi willferry you across the sea ofthis mundane existence.Saburi is manliness; itremoves all sins andafflictions, gets rid ofcalamities in various waysand casts aside all fear, andultimately gives yousuccess. Saburi is the mineof virtues, consort of goodthought. Nishtha (Faith) andSaburi(Patience) are liketwin sisters loving eachother very intimately.My Guru never taught meany mantra, then how shall Iblow any mantra in yourears?..... Do not try to getmantra or Updesh fromanybody. Make me the soleobject of your thoughts andactions and you will, nodoubt, attain Paramarth (thespiritual goal of life). Lookat me whole-heartedly and I inturn look at yousimilarly…….Believe fully thatGuru is the sole Actor or Doer.Blessed is he who knows thegreatness of his Guru andthinks him to be Hari, Hara andBrahma (Trimurti) incarnate”.

Lord Sainath of Shirdi alwaysuse to say “Sabka Malik Ek”i.e. God is One. By thisutterance, Baba used toconvey that we should not fightfor religion as the purpose ofall the religions is to get godwho is one. Baba neverdifferentiated in any religion.Sai Baba was a saint who sawno difference between casteand creed and even in humanbeings particularly, in Hindusand Muslims. Factuallyspeaking, no one definitelyknew whether Sai BabaHimself was a Hindu or Muslim.He celebrated Hindu festivalsof Ram Navami with all dueformalities and at the sametime permitted the ‘Sandal’procession of theMohamedans. On GokulAshtami, Gopal kala ceremonyused to be duly performed andon Id festival, He allowed theMohamedans to chant theirprayers (Namaz) in His masjid.If we say that He wasMohamedan his ears werepierced. If we call Him Hindu,He always lived in Masjid andcalled it Dwarkamai, ifMohamedan, He had alwaysthe Dhuni- the sacred fire.‘Allah Malik’ was constantly onthe tip of His tongue. Yet Heappeared in the grab ofRama, Krishna, Shiv or theguru of the devoteeconcerned.Sai Baba’s constant advisewas that Ram and Rahim wereone and same; there was notthe slightest differencebetween them; then whyshould their devotees quarrelamong themselves; Baba alsoused to advise that both thecommunities join hands; actsanely to gain the object ofnational unity. The Path shownby the Lord Sainath of Shirdiappears to be easy butactually it is difficult totraverse. However it canbetraversed easily if LordSainath of Shirdi showers Hisgrace and blessings.
