LaDainian Tomlinson
is an American football playerwho currently plays running back for the San DiegoChargers of the National Football League. Tomlinson set several records during the 2006 NFL season byscoring a league-leading 186 points. He receivedadditional honors by winning the NFL’s Most ValuablePlayer Award and the Associated Press’ OffensivePlayer of the Year Award.
 
 The San Diego Chargers selected Tomlinsonin the firstround of the 2001 NFL Draft, as the fifth overall pick. TheChargers possessed the draft’s first selection, but tradedthe pick to the Atlanta Falcons, who drafted Michael Vick.In this way, many consider that Vick and Tomlinson were“traded” for each other, although the transaction wasactually the result of traded draft picks. Tomlinsonimmediately became thestarting running back with theChargers and has started all but onegame since. The one game he did notstart was due to a choice by the coachto sit Tomlinson out during the lastregular season game before theplayoffs - not due to any kind of injury.He has achieved immediate success inthe NFL, rushing for over 1,200 yardsand making over 50 receptions in eachof his seven seasons.
