The font is a very basic serif font, so it is clear and easy to read. The font is on a white banner, which is how something would be depicted in older times, such as the medieval times.

A very old fashioned and hand drawn image. A key element of folk rock is the element of the old fashioned and very traditional aesthetics such as this, due to it being derived from folk music, which thrives on these things.

The colours are basic and faded, with the key things being black and white, which are visually striking and contrast heavily, and being laid upon an unsaturated and vintage appearing background, which it works pleasantly with, and adds to the sense of old which already comes from the patterns.

The image has been painted, which suggests a link to tradition. Although Buckcherry are technically a Hard Rock band, the links with this and the folk rock traditions are clear.

The font looks as inky and rough, which indicates that it has been painted too. It also reflects the times of having to write by hand, rather than machine.

The womans body art reflects tattoos and ancient tribal traditions, and such again emphasises the links to old traditions.

The limited colour palette is something which draws attention and is quite typical among the hard rock genre. The colours are warm which make them visually appealing, as do the fact that they are all similar colours.

Traditional painted imagery. The iconography is suggestive of the folk rock genre as it depicts elements of nature and fantasy, which show that the musicians have their roots still firmly in the traditional elements of folk music. The font is very vintage, and looks a lot like something which would be seen in a pre-13th century manuscript, which shows how older things have inspired them. The colour is very muted and uses selected tones, which are mainly warm colours, which are pleasant to look at as they compliment each-other well.

The Art Nouveau style image of the lead singer suggests that there is a link between them and the past. Although Delain are a symphonic metal band, they have similar bases to folk rock music. The use of nouveau suggests elegance too.

It uses a strong font in a strong colour, which contrasts the background due to its light/bright colour.

The image is painted, though it is unclear whether it is digital or traditional. Either way, both demonstrate a link to the past, but digital painting could suggest how these are drawn together.

Use of a limited colour palette. It uses only black, white and oranges, and the colours are all warm and compliment eachother, making it nicer to look at.

The fonts are very uniform and almost stencil- like. This creates a much more modern look, suggesting that Bob Dylan is much more with the times, even as a folk rock artist.

The song names are underneath the album and artist, but are so small they cannot be read, which suggests that they are unimportant. This is also interesting, as they are not usually on the front of the cover, and are usually on the back.

The cover is actually a photograph rather than an piece of artwork, which is actually the only one Ive looked at with this. This was a much more modern thing than the artwork based other covers, but it is still brought back to its roots by the sepia tone on the image, which was the colour photos where when photography was invented, which was about the same time as the folk revival.

The image is a digitally drawn image, with quite rockabilly style iconography from the swallow bird, heart and handcuffs. Rockabilly linked to folk rock, as it had similar roots.

The font is very tattoo style, like the image.
