minute or so is of real life people so aspects of social realism,which is a different type of beginning to most films- grabs yourattention. There is a voice over of Hugh Grant which suggests he is the maincharacter as he is introduced first, he is also a familiar voice forpeople watching the film. Many signifiers of it being a British film-clip from Heathrow airport, and the accents etc. but appealing towider audiences e.g. USA talking about 9/11. The fact Hugh Grant is talking only about love also signifies thegenre throughout.Another famous face shortly after, Soundtrack also advertises thefilm as it is a remake of a well known song. He also signifies thecomedy of the film, and also suggests it’s aimed at an olderaudience not children, because of the swearing.
