With two skeins, CO 26 sts with each skein to work both scarf sides at the same time on one circular needle. Left and Right scarves: K1, P3, K3, P3, K6, P3, K3, P3, K1 for 6 rows. Purl the purl sts and knit the knit sts on the wrong side rows to maintain pattern. Begin Cable pattern as follows: Left scarf: Row 1: K1, P3, K3, P3, 3/3 Left cable, P3, K3, P3, K1. Row 2: P1, K3, P3, K3, P6, K3, P3, K3, P1. Row 3: K1, P3, K3, P3, K6, P3, K3, P3, K1. Right scarf: Row 1: K1, P3, K3, P3, 3/3 Right cable, P3, K3, P3, K1. Row 2: P1, K3, P3, K3, P6, K3, P3, K3, P1. Row 3: K1, P3, K3, P3, K6, P3, K3, P3, K1. repeat rows 2 & 3 and working row 1 every 8 rows. Work RS row of left scarf. CO 48 sts between first and second scarf. Work remaining scarf to end in pattern. Turn. (100 sts) Work across back of hood in hood pattern. You will discontinue edge stitch from inside of scarves. Continue cable pattern on hood edges as pictured. WS Hood pattern: P1, K3, P3, K3, P6, K3, P62, K3, P6, K3, P3, K3, P1. RS Hood pattern: K1, P3, K3, P3, K6, P3, K62, P3, K6, P3, K3, P3, K1. Work until hood measures about 11" from cast on edge. Divide stitched between two ends of circular (50/50 sts). Bind off with 3 needles. Tip: End 3 rows from last cabled row. Ribbing edge: From RS row facing, pick up 78 sts along outside of right scarf, 39 sts along right side of hood, 39 sts along left side of hood, 78 sts along outside of left scarf. (about 234 sts) Turn. Tip: Pick up 2 for every 3 rows on vertical edge. Starting on a WS row, work P2, K2 ribbing, repeat to end, ending with P2. Adjust stitch count with addition or subtraction of sts to end on a P2. Work ribbing for 1" from picked-up sts, about 3 rows. Bind off loosely. With RS facing, pick up 78 sts along inside of left scarf, 50 sts along neck of hood, 78 sts along inside of right scarf. (206 sts) Starting on WS, work P2, K2 ribbing, repeat to end, ending with P2. Adjust stitch count with addition or subtraction of sts to end on a P2. Work ribbing for 3 rows (about 1) from picked-up sts. Bind off. Block scarf to 7 wide.
