In the parallelogram

AB = 3 x − 4 Solution:
BC = x + 5
CD = 2 x + 10 From the definition of a parallelogram,
opposite sides are congruent, therefore
What is BC? AB = DC
3 x − 4 = 2 x + 10 − 2 x and + 4 to both sides
x = 14

We can substitute this value of x into BC

BC = x + 5
BC = 14 + 5
A 14 BC = 19
B 19
C 38
D 76
