What do you do when you have PCs behind a Netgear router and you plan to use dPop? Thisdocument will go over the process of setting up
dPop Direct Connect
on your PCs, your Netgear router, and give you information on the terms and concepts used within this process. A few things you’ll need before we start:
floppy disk.
A piece of paper and pen/pencil or a working printer.

So you’ve gotten through the wizard! 
Figure 1 shows a standard network LAN configuration with a Netgear router. Please note thatthis is not the only configuration possible, but it is merely to be used as an example here.

 In order to start the
dPop Direct Connect
setup process, we’ll need to get some information fromyour router. First open your web browser and type the address of the router, which should be
, then hit enter. See Figure 2

: You will not need to put a www in front of the router’s address in your browser. Alsothe Netgear factory default address for all their routers is
, if your router has beenconfigured differently, you will need to input the correct router address. For more information onthis please review page. Once you’ve entered the address of the router into your web browser it should come up with ascreen asking for a password, Windows users will see Figure 3.

 When this screen comes up, you will need to input a password. If you have not changed your router’s password simply type ‘
’ (without quotes) into the User name text area. Next type
’ (without quotes) in the Password text area. 
The default Netgear User name is
for their WGR614 router. The defaultpassword is
. Once you login you should see a screen shown in Figure 4 (please note that some options on thescreen may be different depending on your configuration). <insert pic>

 Now that we’ve got the Netgear router configuration screen up, we can get the information weneed to continue with the wizard. At the left click on
(red arrow in Figure 4), and it shouldbring you to the window shown in Figure 5.

 In Figure 5, there should be two areas, LAN port and
Internet Port
. The number we need tofinish the router setup on this PC is the
Internet Port IP Address
(red arrow in Figure 5). Takenote of this address then input it into the wizard, but
There are still a few more steps you’llneed to take. Once the wizard completes you’ll need to input the blank floppy, and create the environmentaldisk. Next you will take the disk to additional PCs on your network, and once done, a screen willpop up with information needed for the router. You can either print this out, or write it down, but itis important that you have that information at hand.
