The reason liesmuch deeper, and namely in the way of life, of the unhealthyhabits and in the lack of proper physical activity.Among the most dangerous diseases, overweight people tendto have risks for, are diabetes, coronary heart disease, differenttypes of cancer. You may wonder why. As already mentioned,the risks are hidden not only in weight itself, but in the way ofunhealthy lifestyle, that leads not only to overweight, but also toincreased levels of blood sugar - main cause for coronary heartdisease, kidney problems, stroke, also increased blood pressure- leading as well to coronary heart disease and stroke, andabnormal growth of cells, that leads to developing differenttypes of cancer. Among these dangerous diseases, there arefurther more, that are also caused by overweight, such as sleepapnea, osteoarthritis, even complications during pregnancy.As you already notice, it is not just the way you look, that youshould change by losing weight, but also you would decreasethe risks of the above diseases and many more.
How to define whether you are overweight?
BMI Calculation
There are several ways to define, whether you are overweight.The most common amongst them is calculating your BMI. BMIstands for Body Mass Index, and it represents the ratio betweenthe weight and height. A BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 is consideredhealthy; a BMI of 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight; and a BMIof 30 or more is considered obese.
Calculating BMI has however some tricks. The major problem is,that there are people, who are very muscular, and it is veryprobably, that they fit in the “overweight” category, although
