default hotkeys are 'h' and 'g' in vlc0.9.8a. Thanks for the tip!

Well, not so good. The hotkeys in Mac OS increase or decrease by 100 milliseconds. So if you're two or three minutes behind, that's a lot of clicking. There used to be a way to fix this in earlier versions of Videolan, but not anymore it seems.
