Sorry for the late response! What I mean is a workout. You don't want your hands to be stressed, so there shouldn't be too much tension, but let's say that you work on alternate picking or legato for a good half hour. Your hands will feel warm, the blood will flow, and your hands will feel softer, relaxed and loosened.
