One of the interesting things I have learnedin life is the value of giving back. I have hadthe opportunity to meet people from allwalks of life and the one consistent thing Ihave noticed is, usually all successful peoplehave learned the merit of giving back.“Give and It shall be given unto you..Thisprinciple is embraced by the majority of successful people in all walks of life.My question is simply this, when is the lasttime you gave back? Have you invested yourtime, talents and treasures in someoneother than yourself? To be truly fulfilledmost find that it is not just having enoughor an abundance for ourselves. What kindof world would it be if we were the onlyperson on earth and had access to every-thing we could ever imagine, but no one toshare it with. I can only surmise it would bequite a miserable existence.Life mandates and shouts at usRECIPROCITY. True happiness and totalfulfillment comes through reproducingyour life experience and investing into theempowerment and betterment of others.I personally get great fulfillment out of seeing lives that I have had the opportunityto speak into, and see the fruit of a lifechanged for the better. The philosophy “each one reach one” isthe salvation of our post modern soci-ety; change is always good, but there aresome values and absolutes that need tobe embraced and carried into the 21stcentury. Those of us who are of the Busterand Boomer generations have the task of passing on values and wholesome traditions.I just want to encourage us all in this “Me”generated society, not to forget where wecame from, and to make an equal invest-ment in the lives of those in your sphere of influence.I can actually remember the mentors inmy life who made a profound impact onme; some have passed on, but they still livebecause their values and principles stilllive in me. I want to continue the legacy of passing on those values and principles evenif it takes away some of my “Me” time tomake it happen. My daily prayer is “don’t letme be so “Me” conscious and arrogant thatI think the world should halt and revolvearound me. I am just a servant of human-ity, and true fulfillment is not in how muchI can accumulate but how much I can giveaway.May we all recognize that we are justservant leaders called to make a differ-ence in the areas assigned to us. Let’s makeRECIPROCITY the norm and not an anom-aly. We are all called to make this world abetter place, and can do that if “EACH ONEREACHES ONE.”
