SB 13-033Advancing Students for a Stronger Economy Tomorrow (ASSET)
What It Does
undocumented students to pay in-state tuition if they meet the following criteria:
They have attended a Colorado high school for a minimum of THREE years and graduated or earneda general equivalency diploma (GED).
They have applied and been admitted to a Colorado institution of higher education within one yearof graduating or earning a GED.
They submit an affidavit to the institution of higher education stating that they are in the process of becoming documented immigrants.
Allows colleges, universities and other private financial aid programs to make available institutional or otherfinancial aid to undocumented students.
Requires students who want to take advantage of the in-state tuition rate to apply for lawful citizenship.
